Snow day! No School, yay.

I can't believe how much snow fell today.  The human on TV said that it was a record for the place where I live.  My owner, who I call Mommy, was worried about letting me play in the snow, so I whined and cried until she gave in.  I had Mommy take pictures of me playing in the snow.  Here are a few of me.
I'm glad that I was wearing my lucky red scarf.  It was so cold out.

It was getting pretty deep.  I couldn't believe that the snow was almost as deep as I am tall.  Mamie made me come in to warm up and eat dinner.  It just kept snowing and snowing.  I watched the snow falling from the big window at the back of my house.  The deeper the snow got, the more I wanted to play in it again. Once again, Mamie was concerned about letting me have fun.  Once again, I yelled and whined until she let me out.  You can see in the pictures just how deep the snow was.

You can barely see me, but that's my head poking up under the deck!  I dug a valley through the snow just like the Grand Canyon.  Speaking of the Grand Canyon, did you know...

"The Grand Canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and attains a depth of over a mile (6,000 feet / 1,800 metres). Nearly two billion years of the Earth's geological history has been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. While the specific geologic processes and timing that formed the Grand Canyon are the subject of debate by geologists, recent evidence suggests the Colorado River established its course through the canyon at least 17 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River continued to erode and form the canyon to its present-day configuration."

But unlike the Grand Canyon, this one only took me a few minutes to dig.
I am so glad that I was able to play in the snow.  Thank you for listening to my story.  I'll be back soon to tell you another one soon.
Bye,
Dixie
